Evart is located in the heart of Osceola County, and at the southern boundary of the Pere Marquette State Forest. The Pere Marquette Forest contains over 16,000 acres of beautiful forest with many recreational trails that are maintained year around. The Muskegon River flows through the county on its way from Houghton Lake to Muskegon and is noted for its wonderful canoeing and fishing. The area is blessed with numerous lakes ranging from the small fishing lake to large all sports lakes. Osceola county is also noted for its GREAT DEER HUNTING and is home to the sought after Michigan morels. The new Rails to Trails travels through the City of Evart serving bikers, walkers, and snowmobilers traveling between Clare and Reed City year around.
